hey papa,
To the boy in his late twenties i adored,
To the man i looked up to in my teens,
and now to the elder i respect and hold profound regards for....
Sure enough you're not the world's most coolest, tech savvy, gadget friendly, out going dad in the world. Maybe you are not the most expressive kind when it comes to
showing ones feelings. And maybe oh maybe we don't share those long talks on love and life. But that doesn't undermine the true person you really are...
Your life is a lesson in itself and i pride myself on the fact that you are and always will be my biggest inspiration. Hailing from a humble background, you ensured that we lavished in the luxury which eluded your childhood days. Being a workaholic, i learnt of your unflinching dedication and faith you had in the organization which has seen your growth. Your simplistic ways of living taught me all about humility. You were never a great conservationist and on the off chances where you did, we were in for a surprise !
MY ONE TRUE HERO !
When engulfed with insecurities, you swept them away and made me embrace life in a new light. Your kindness and helping tendency, of all the good deeds you did,
made me the woman i am today.
I remember every piggy-back ride and backyard games.
I remember every time I made you dress up in crowns and feather boas, and play with my dolls.
I remember our long hours of travel despite the deteriorating weather which we took for my practices.
I remember all the times you had waited patiently outside while i took lessons in music and dance.
I remember every time you selflessly did what I wanted, and never asked for anything in return.
I remember every display of overwhelming patience and grace you showed me.
I remember your careful advises as i struggled through my adolescent years
I remember this and more...
I remember it all, because it lives in the heart of a daughter forever...
You are the first man i truly loved
From my first bike ride to the first person who stood up on my grad day you have seen me through every step of life. You taught me the ways of life, of contentment and unwavering love and above all, more than anything you taught me to love myself for what I am...
Old day you will give me away in marriage to another man, I hope you know I’m never really letting go because I know that through any stage I encounter or dream I decide to chase, you’re still back there watching me, and waiting for my call.
Love,
Your lil gal.
